Charlottesville Band Building

great space.
The Charlottesville Band Building, formerly the Municipal Arts Center, opened in 2000 as the Band’s first permanent home in its already long history. It was designed by Band member Jack Laramore, built by Band member Joe Goldsmith, and houses the Band’s music library and equipment. The facility hosts weekly Band rehearsals and is available for rent to other community arts organizations that require meeting and rehearsal space. The building features office space, a large rehearsal hall for both instrumental and vocal ensembles, a floor that accommodates dance groups of all types, a multi-purpose meeting room that provides limited space for food preparation, a conference and boardroom, and an enclosed loading dock area for deliveries and equipment transfer. Upper floors are handicapped accessible via elevator. The building also offers storage and rental office space to non-Band groups.
