Bring your family and enjoy the Band on a Sunday afternoon in the air conditioned Paramount Theatre!

Bonnie Gold-Slater is a graduate of The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University.  She has won several awards, including the Yale Gordon Concerto Competition, The Itzaak Perlman Young Soloist, Senatorial Scholarship from Maryland and Disabled Person of the Year in Maryland.  Bonnie has performed many times at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.  She has also performed for four different presidents of the United States and at Bill Clinton’s inauguration, but her most exciting moment was performing for the Emperor and Empress of Japan.  While performing, she taught in Frederick and Montgomery County Public Schools. Bonnie currently teaches saxophone and clarinet at the Field School in Crozet, Scholarship students for Cville Band, and her own studio of woodwinds, brass and piano students in Albemarle County.  Music is her passion, and her daughters Eva and Mia are the most important people in her life.

Laura Lazarevich is the founding artistic director of the South Loudoun Youth Chorale.  She previously taught high school chorus for 14 years in Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun counties.  Laura received a Bachelor of Music Education from James Madison University and a Masters of Music Education from Florida State University.  She has conducted Honor Choirs throughout the state with her groups consistently earning superior ratings.  Laura has received several recognitions throughout her career including the Outstanding Early Career Music Educator Alumni Award from James Madison University.  She is an active member of Caritas NoVa, a local women’s chamber ensemble with the mission of charitable concerts for local non-profit organizations.  Laura currently resides in Aldie, Virginia with her husband, Pete, and children, Carson and Claire.

SSG Nicholas “Nicco” Feemster comes from a musical family, taking inspiration from his grandfather Herb Fame of the Grammy-nominated R&B duo Peaches & Herb.  He attended Georgia State University where he received dual degrees in Marketing and Management Science.  SSG Feemster is a story-driven artist whose music covers a wide variety of topics, primarily related to mental health and the fight associated with individual growth.  SSG Feemster adds, “I’m overjoyed that I get to do this for a purpose bigger than myself… We want to reach as many people as possible, and if you want to reach people and tell stories that reach a larger audience, rap is a great way today.”

Our Community Partners

We are proud of our collaborations with music, arts, education and community organizations across Central Virginia. Some of these relationships go back decades, but we are always looking for new opportunities to share the gift of music in Charlottesville and beyond. Here are just a few of our community partners.
